Our Exhibits

Our collections boast over 4000 objects many of which are featured in over 30 exhibits such as Mi'kmaq, Loyalist and Acadian history, Callbeck’s store display and Borden ferry service. There’s something for everyone to learn and enjoy!

The main museum is housed over two floors in the old Callbeck building, a historical country store. Displays include Mi'kmaq, Loyalist and Acadian history, Callbeck’s store and Borden ferry service. There’s something for everyone to learn and enjoy!

L.M. Montgomery Lower Bedeque School Exhibits

School Exhibits
Visit a restored and fully furnished 19th-century country school! Famous Author, Lucy Maud Montgomery taught in school from 1897-1898. Displays showcase early education in P.E.I. and the translation of Montgomery's works into Japanese. Come to the school to learn about Montgomery's life and the secret romance she experienced while living in Lower Bedeque!

Redesign of the Callbeck Store Exhibit
This winter, loca Artist Liisa Carbone is redesigning the Callbeck store exhibit. This display tells the story of the Callbeck family business that operated in our museum building from 1899-1991. Stay tuned for the unveiling!

Wendell Feener Clock Collection: Clocks of the island 1770 – 1960
Last summer, Wendell Feener generously donated 173 clocks to the museum, making us the Island's unofficial clock museum! Come visit this exhibit to see 2 centuries of clocks and learn about their history.

PEI and the Monarchy
 The exhibit takes advantage of a donation to the Museum of a collection of pictures of past sovereigns and tells the story of Prince Edward Island’s connection to the Royal Family and the monarchy. Come visit to learn about the 26 royal visits to the Island.
